LAST RITES HELD JUNE 30 IN GILMORE CITY FOR MRS. SARAH ROKENBRODT
GILMORE CITY--Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Rokenbrodt, 79, were held Monday, June 30, 1958 at the Methodist Church.
The Rev. Royal Steiner, pastor of the church, conducted the services and burial took place at the Oak Hill cemetery in Estherville, her former home. Beiter funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Roy Greiner of Correctionville, Wesley McNabb of Washta, Maurice Larson of Estherville, Richard Freis of Walker, Minn., Elwood Rokenbrodt of Albert Lea, Minn., and Cletus Smith of Gilmore City. Music was furnished by Mrs. Royal Steiner, with Ernest Freeman as accompanist.
Mrs. Rokenbrodt died June 28 at her home following a heart attack. She had been in ill health for the past few months.
Born in Winterset, Iowa, Nov. 6, 1878, she was the former Sarah Shaw, daughter of John T. Shaw and Sarah Shaw. March 24, 1896, she was married to Fred Rokenbrodt of Estherville, who preceded her in death April 9, 1955, as did a son, Dwight.
Surviving Mrs. Rokenbrodt are three children, Mrs. Ruth Miller of Gilmore City, Mrs. F. G. Weir of Estherville and Floyd of Humboldt, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
