Mrs. A. H. Pickell Buried Last Thurs. Aftern'n at Dolliver

Ida J. Merriott, daughter of Noel L. and Julia L. Merriott, was born March 24, 1870, at Fredericksburg, Iowa, and died October 7th, 1935. Her girlhood was spent in Chickasaw county, Iowa, where she was united in marriage to A. H. Pickell, Aug. 27, 1887. They resided there until 1891 when they moved to Dickinson County and later to Dolliver where they have lived since 1904.

Two sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Pickell, Lewis E. of Hollendale, Minn., and Lee M., who died in 1930. An adopted daughter, Mrs. Westrem, lives near Garner, Iowa.

Besides her husband and children, he leaves to mourn her death, 12 grandchildren and a brother, James Merriott, of Estherville, Iowa. A wide circle of friends and neighbors in this community also sorrow at the passing of this good woman.

In the fall of 1892 Mrs. Pickell was converted at a revival meeting at the Randolph school house in the Swan Lake charge and united with the Methodist Church. She has been a faithful and active member of the church, since and always a fine Christian woman. For many years serving as a steward and working in all of the departments of the church where she might be needed. She was also interested In every worthy community activity.

Funeral services were conducted at the Dolliver M. E. Church b.y Rev. C E. Yeager Thursday afternoon, October 10th, and burial was in the East Side cemetery in Estherville.

Mrs. Neil Finn and Mrs. A. R. Eckhart accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Yeager, sang "In The Land of the Unsetting Sun," "In The Rifted Rock I'm Resting" and "Nearer, Still Nearer." These were the songs she had picked out and wished sung at her funeral.

Pallbearers were H. 0. Burdette, O. P. Stow, Paul Anderson, A U. Eckhart, Wm. McIlwraith, and Gene Lundahl.

Among those who attended from away were Mr. A. H. Pickell, Mr. and Mrs L.E. Pickell of Hollendale, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. John Westrom and son Jimmy, Mrs. L M. Pickell, Joyce Donald, Belva and Celeste of Charles City, Mr. and Mrs. Will Campbell of Ayrshire; J. H. Merriott, Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Merriott and Pauline, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. I. Coleman, Mrs. Sever Egertson, and Mrs. Louise Bagan of Estherville, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Pickell, Mrs. Ike Sampson, Mrs. Willis Wortz of Geneva, Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Frisbee of East Chain, W. O. Dowden and Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Dowden of Spirit Lake.
