Emmet Township--Mrs. Minnie Peitz [sic], aged 71 years, died Friday morning, April 15th [1898] of the inflammation of the lungs at the home of her son, Louis Peitz [sic].

The deceased was born in Germany where she was married to Daniel Peitz [sic]. The young couple soon after the marriage, emigrated to this country, and have been residents of this part of the state, coming to Emmet county 28 years ago. For the past few years they have been residents of Dickinson county, living on a farm five miles northwest of Superior.

Her husband and seven sons, August, Herman, Louis, Adolph, William, Amial, and Robert, survive her.

A number of Emmetites attended the funeral of Mrs. D. Pietz last Sunday. She was an old settler of this county and township. Three of her sons reside here still. She leaves many friends.
