Services Tuesday for Mr. Peterson

Asher Peterson, 88, Wallingford, died late Saturday night, [Oct. 9, 1971] at Holy Family Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1883, east of Wallingford to Ole and Sarah Peterson. He received his education in the Wallingford schools.

On Dec. 11, 1918, he was married to Mary Hanson at Gruver. They farmed in the Wallingford area. He then managed the Farmers Co-op Elevator in Wallingford and later returned to the farm and then retired to Wallingford in 1945.

He was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church where he held various offices and was church custodian for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Mary, Wallingford; one daughter, Mrs. William (Doris) Deal, Alta; one son, Dean, Sanborn; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole Peterson and Sigrid Tollefsdtr. Paulson Troo, six brothers and three sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Pannkuk officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Wallingford.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home at Estherville after 2 p.m. Monday until noon Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state.

Pallbearers are Harlan Peterson, Donald Peterson, Francis Skattebo, Arnold Anderson, Lewis Sevatson and Stanley Young.
