WALLINGFORD - Services for Avis O. Paulson, 79, of Wallingford, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Jack Torgersen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Sept. 9, 1996 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Estherville is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 14, 1917 at Graettinger, the daughter of Levi and Emma (Axelton) Olson. She attended the Blue Bottom School in rural Palo Alto County. She married Francis Paulson Dec. 16, 1938 at rural Graettinger. He died Nov. 28, 1940. She was a cook for the Graettnger Community School for eleven years and the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville for five years. she moved into Wallingford in 1968. She was a member of the Wallingford Lutheran Church, W.L.C.W., the Miriam circle and served as custodian for a year.

/Survivors include a grandson, Greg Paulson of Graettinger; daughter-in-law, Darlene Paulson, Estherville; sister, LaVerna Anderson, Wallingford; niece, Mrs.Paul (Judy) Corrie, Bronson, nephews: Loren Anderson, Gruver, Norris Annderson, Grand Island, Neb., and Orvis Anderson, Estherville; seven grand-nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Orland who died Mar. 20, 1973 and a sister.
