Frank Otto Dies; Rites on Thursday

Frank Wilbur Otto, 81, Estherville, died at 8:25 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, at his home of a heart condition.

He was born Oct. 6, 1889, at Dakota, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. John Otto. He was educated in the Illinois and Royal area schools. Following the death of his father, he moved to the Royal, Iowa area with his mother.

He was married Feb. 25, 1914, to Edna Lawson at Spencer. They farmed near Royal for four years following their marriage, then moved to a farm near Estherville in 1918. He moved to Estherville in 1930. He worked for the Tobin Packing Co. for a number of years, and later for the Sioux Valley Fish Line. He retired at the age of 65.

He is survived by his wife, Edna, Estherville; two sons, Kenneth W. Otto, Bellevue, Neb., Wendell Otto, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Rex (Doris) Logue, Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. Richard (Madlyn) Grade, Cape Cod, Mass; and 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons and one brother.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning, until noon Thursday.
