M. H. MATHSON, 41, FORMER RESIDENT ARMSTRONG DIES

Melvin Hegbert Mathson, 41, of Paynesville, Minn., formerly of Armstrong, died Tuesday at his home of pneumonia after an illness of only three days. His wife will be remembered here as Miss Besulah Handeland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Handeland of this city.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Estherville Lutheran church with the Rev. L. A. Mathre in charge. Burial will be in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery north of Estherville.

Mr. Mathson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Mathson of Armstrong. He was born Feb. 11, 1895, at Bode but spent most of his life in the Armstrong community. Mr. and Mrs. Mathson were married March 5, 1925, and moved to Paynesville in 1928, where he operated a garage and used car exchange.

He is survived by his wife, his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Susie Handeland of Dolliver, Mrs. Helen Rodman of Coyage, Calif., Mrs. Inga Rodham of Oakland, Calif., and Carl and Hjalmar at home.
