Last Rites Thursday for Barbara Hoff

Funeral services for Barbara Hoff, 89, lifetime resident of the Wallingford area, who died Saturday, [29 May 1961] at 4:30 p.m. in the state hospital at Cherokee, are to be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Wallingford Lutheran church. The Rev. Benjamin Coltvet of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church near Wallingford will officiate in the absence of the Rev. Norbert Jolivette.

Burial is to be in the Wallingford Lutheran Church [cemetery]. Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Thursday at which time the body is to be taken to the church at Wallingford to lie in state until time of services. The casket will not be opened after the service.

Miss Hoff was born Nov. 15, 1871 near Wallingford, the daughter of Swen and Bertha Hoff. She received her education in the Emmet County schools.

Miss Hoff was confirmed in the Wallingford Lutheran Church when a young girl. She spent her entire life in the Wallingford and Estherville area. For the past several months she has been in failing health.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Pallbearers are to be William Ellis, S. T. Dybdahl, Albert Wolden, Norman Michelson, C. L. Torreson and Jamie Kasa. A memorial fund has been established.
