Jack Benjamin, the son of Ralph and Ethel (Cameron) Benjamin, was born September 1, 1925, in Portland, Oregon and was raised by Victor and Ethel Whalen. He passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at his home in Dolliver, Iowa at the age of 82 years old.
He received his education in the Dolliver schools. He then attended Morningside College in Sioux City. Jack served in the US Navy during World War II. He later attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
On July 30, 1948, Jack was united in marriage to Alma Rosenow at the United Methodist Church in Estherville. The couple farmed and made their home west of Dolliver. The couple moved into Dolliver fifteen years ago to make their home. In his leisure time he enjoyed music, traveling, woodworking and most importantly spending time with his family.
Jack attended the United Methodist Church in Dolliver.
Left to cherish Jack's memory are his children, Karen Egel and her husband, John of Overland Park, Kansas; Scott Benjamin and his wife, Diane of Superior, Iowa; Keith Benjamin and his wife, Jennifer of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Joel Benjamin, Jennifer Benjamin, Cameron Benjamin, Duncan Benjamin;
Preceding Jack in death were his parents and his wife.
