DOLLIVER - Funeral services for Alma Benjamin, 77, of Dolliver, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at United Methodist Church in Dolliver with Pastor Lyndon Roesler officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Little Swan Lake Winery north of Superior. Interment will be at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver.
She died Sunday, March 25, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.
Alma Ruth Rosenow, the daughter of Carl and Edith (Black) Rosenow, was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Earling.
She graduated from Estherville High School. She also attended Estherville Junior College.
On July 30, 1948, Alma was united in marriage to Jack Benjamin at the United Methodist Church in Estherville. The couple farmed and made their home west of Dolliver. Alma was employed at Stall's Farm and Home, Benjamin Painting and the Little Swan Lake Winery. The couple moved into Dolliver 15 years ago to make their home. In her leisure time she enjoyed fishing, traveling and most importantly spending time with her family.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dolliver where she was active in Ladies Aid. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary in Dolliver.
Left to cherish Alma's memory are her husband. Jack Benjamin of Dolliver; her children, Karen Egel and her husband, John, of Overland Park.
Kan., Scott Benjamin and his wife, Diane, of Superior, and Keith Benjamin and his wife, Jennifer, of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Joel Benjamin, Jennifer Benjamin, Cameron Benjamin, and Duncan Benjamin; and one sister, Lillian Joor and her husband, Bill, of Hot Springs Village. Ark.Preceding Alma in death were her parents.
