GRUVER -- Services for Lewis Harvey, 88, of Gruver will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 at Gruver Presbyterian Church in Gruver. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery in Estherville.

Mr. Harvey died Tuesday, Jan. 5 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Estherville. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Friday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born April 15, 1904 in Gruver, son of Stewart and Malinda (Ehlers) Harvey. He married Lois Stewart on Aug. 20, 1930 at Blue Earth, Minn. They farmed south of Gruver until January of 1957 when they moved to Gruver. He retired in 1961.

He was a member of Gruver Presbyterian Church, serving many years as an Elder and Trustee, served on the Gruver School Board,, as a Center Township Trustee, township clerk, was a member of the Emmet County Historical Society and served for 30 years on the Gruver City Council.

Survivors include: his wife, Lois of Gruver; three daughters, Hermina Amoroso and husband, Victor, of Lawler, Marlys Kinnel and husband, John, of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., Betty DeVary and husband, Dennis, of rural Estherville; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
