Miss Mable Halverson Passed Away This Morning

FUNERAL IS SATURDAY

Raised in This Community and Had Many Friends -- A Great Shock

This community was greatly shocked this morning to learn of the death of Miss Mable Halverson at her home in this city. While it was known that she had not been feeling well since last March, it was thought that she was improving and only last week she felt well enough to take a trip to Des Moines where she visited friends and relatives. She returned Sunday morning from that place and on Monday she took to her bed. All that loving care and medical skill could do was to no avail and she passed on to the better land at an early hour this morning.

There was perhaps no young lady in the city more popular than Miss Halverson. She grew to young womanhood in this community and was known to every one as a young lady of exceptional personality and charm. Her kindly disposition made her a favorite in her circle of friends and her place will be hard to fill in that capacity. To her parents and family her loss is an unknown act of an All Wise Providence. An only daughter and sister is gone and the place in the home that she occupied will always be vacant. It is here that the sorrow strikes deepest and we are prone to wonder why it must be.

Miss Halverson was born in Center township, Emmet County on February 23, 1892 and died at her home June 14, 1921 being just past 29 years of age. She attended the schools in this city until the time she left to learn the millinery trade. Before she became sick in the spring she occupied a position at the Brenneman jewelry store in this city. Her whole life has been spent in this community where she was honored and respected by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock and from the Norwegian Lutheran church at two o'clock, Rev. Berge in charge. She is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Halverson and two brothers, Harry of Minneapolis and Alvin of Memphis, Tennessee. Harry arrived this morning and Alvin is expected tomorrow. Besides the immediate family there are other relatives in this vicinity and hosts of friends who mourn the death of this splendid girl. We join the many friends in extending deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
