ARMSTRONG, Iowa -- Ernest Feddersen, the son of Carl and Verna (Cox) Feddersen was born on December 7, 1914, in Dolliver, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville, Iowa at the age of 88. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Armstrong.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Ringsted, Iowa, with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Burial will be in Ringsted Memorial Cemetery, Ringsted, Iowa.
Ernie received his education at the Dolliver schools.
On October 2, 1937, he was united in marriage to Marion Tackles in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Dolliver, Armstrong, and Ringsted areas. They moved into Armstrong in 1988. Marion died on January 15, 1994.
For hobbies, Ernie enjoyed gardening, horses and reading. He also enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Mexico. Ernie was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ringsted.
Ernie is survived by his four children, Evelyn Oakes and her husband, Dean of Iowa City, Iowa; Lynn Feddersen and his wife, Darleen of Everly, Iowa; Dennis Feddersen and his wife, Lynn of Estherville, Iowa; Wayne Feddersen and his wife, Joann of Ringsted, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, four brothers and sisters, John Feddersen and his wife, Jeanine; Emma McConnell; Ann Rankin, all of Armstrong, and Elmer Feddersen and his wife, Maria of Omaha,,Neb.; and special friend, Hazel Barringer.
He has been preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marion, his sons, Virtus and Sam, and his brothers and sisters, Carl, Henry, Edna, Erma, Louie and Virtus.
