Mrs. Gilbert Eike, 75, Dies;
Rites WednesdayMrs. Gilbert Eike, 75, of Estherville, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday [4 Feb. 1945] at Holy Family Hospital where she has been confined as a patient since September. Mrs. Eike has been in poor health the past 20 years.
Belle Peterson was born June 2, 1870 at Elgin, Iowa and was married March 7, 1893, to Gilbert Eike who died last winter. There were four sons and one daughter, one son and the daughter preceding their father and mother in death. Surviving are three sons, Glen of Des Moines, Murvin (newspaper spelling) and Russell, both of Estherville; also 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Mahlum and Sandin funeral chapel and at 2 p.m. in the Estherville Lutheran church. Burial will be in the East Side cemetery.
