My great-grandfather Michael Fox was supposed to have died from an accident in 1857 or 1858. I think that he died in Liberty township in Dubuque County, Iowa. Guardianship for the minor heirs was recorded 16 April 1858. Would there have been an inquest for his death? What other records might be available? I would like to know when he died, from what, and where he is buried. My great grandmother Mary Swift Fox died on or about 19 Sept 1868. She is supposed to have died at home and it would be in the same county and township. Is there any way I can find out what she died from and where she is buried? Guardianship for the minor heirs was recorded 2 Oct ,1868. They both were Catholic. Maybe that will help.
Thanks for any help that you can give me.
Margie Duncan
