Good morning,
Would you be able to refer me to someone in Dubuque who can do some genealogy research for me? If so, can you provide contact information? I’m willing to pay for the person’s time, or make a donation.
My original English immigrant husband and wife settled in Dubuque in 1835, Richard (1812-1887) and Elizabeth Cox (1820-1890), after which Richard became a very successful and prominent businessman and citizen of the community. Ultimately only 4 of 9 children survived into mature productive adulthood. There are at least 10 family graves in their family plot at Linwood Cemetery with a prominent obelisk marking the plot.
My initial research goals:
a. A photo(s) of Richard and Elizabeth,
b. An obituary or articles about a son, who died on a ranch in Arizona at 25 years of age; his remains were returned to Dubuque for burial at Linwood,
c. Obituaries/photos of other family members.Thank you for whatever referral or advice you may offer.
