I have an obit dated Monday, January 29, 1884 from the Dubuque Herald for a Major. Wm. Myers, born in New Madrid, MO on August 22, 1807. He came to Dubuque 1834 and in 1832 he was married to Miss Susan L Shannon, daughter of William Shannon. He was the father of 9 children. Sound like the one you are looking for? I have the obit and would be glad to copy and send to you.
