I show the following obits for Deggendorf's: Dubuque Herald - ANNA DEGGENDORF - age 25 at Mt. Pleasant (May 10, 1868); CHARLES DEGGENDORF - in St. Louis MO of typhoid. Age 23 years. Dubuque burial (Dubuque Herald Sept 19, 1869); MRS MARY DEGGENDORF - age 57 years. Funeral from the residence between 8th & 9th on Clay Street. There is also something on F. E. DEGGENDORF in the Biographical Sketches page 782 - "agent of the Fire & Life Insurance Co. Native of Austria born Dec 12, 1834. Came to America in 1850 and Dubuque in December of that year. Enlisted in the first call for troops in 1861, severely wounded in the Battle of Wilson's Creek. Married Miss Anna Seeger in 1864. She was also a native of Austria. They have 4 children - Ferdinand, Jennie, A. Stanton and Norma.
