Ruef/Rouf 1880's

RUEF, ROUF, AMBUEHL

I am currently doing land owner histories on a creamery site in rural Jones county, Iowa. One of the land owners was Ulrich Ruef or locally spelled "Rouf".I believe Mr. Ruef was born 19 August 1847 at Ebligen, Switzerland. He purchased a farm in Richland township, Jones County in 1881 possibly for another Swiss man, Andreas Ambuhl. At the time of the sale Ulrich was living in Dubuque county. Any information on this man would be appreciated.
