Thanks for the input Dick.

I don't think these are my Leigh's, although I have them listed as a
possibility of a brother or other relative of J E Leigh. They also appear
in the 1870 census I believe. As I'm new at this genealogy stuff I truly
have no idea! Made my first visit to the Mormon Family History Center
(FHC)in Mesa Az today to look for the Leighs in Iowa. I cannot find them in
the 1880 or the 1860 census. The 1870 census lists a post office and it is
either Pecosta or Peosta. Do you have any idea what or where this is?
Unfortunately, there are many pages n the 1860 census that are not legible.

All of the "oral" family history I have relates to Dyersville, and I
searched that Post Office too. I'm not sure how, or if, the Post Office
relates to the census. Augusta married a Joseph Burton (also from England)
and resided in Chicago, though I have no idea when they met, married, or
moved to Chicago.

Going to take some classes soon at the FHC, so I truly realize how much I
don't know!

Thanks again for your input,

Regards,
