I am researching a Wilhelm Frederick Stremmel who immigrated from Germany in 1882. He ultimately settled in Phelps County, Missouri, but not before marrying a Mathilda Johnson in Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa, in 1889. I am seeking Mathilda's true maiden name, because I am fairly certain that it isn't Johnson. She was born in Iowa, 1866, and states on the census that her father is from Germany. Wendy
