I am descended from McDermott’s of rural Dubuque County. I have some of those names in my family tree. I have a Thomas P. “Tommie” McDermott (1884 - 1984) who is the son of Francis Bernard McDermott. Thomas has a son, John J. (1911 - 1972). Thomas’s brother, Francis, has a son named Raymond (1903 -1997). Francis Bernard McDermott had a twin brother named Edward T. McDermott. This Edward has a grandson named Edward C. (born about 1921 - per census info - I do not have a death date). I do have a Henry in my information, but he was born about 1860 (per census info). This Henry is the son of Austin McDermott, brother of Francis Bernard and Edward T. McDermott. Who is your Henry descended from? I know very little information on Austin’s family - perhaps your Henry could be a grandson of him, as they lived in Dubuque. I have some Dans in my info, but none whose dates would match up.
