In response to the email from Carol, re: 3 Heers buried in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. I have both Joseph and Amelia Heer listed on the family tree. I also have Elizabeth Heer and Caroline Heer both born 1871 and died 1891 (must have been twins). You show Elizabeth E. Heer born 1886 and died 1984! She would have been 98 when she died. Mabel Ellis nee Stott must have been the sister of Amelia Heer since that was her maiden name also! Interesting since the name Ellis is the only Iowa ancestor on my side of the family. And she lived in Sioux City. All the other surnames are from my husband's side of the family. Thanks for the info, we will have to visit that cemetery on our next trip to Dubuque.
