Mrs. Lenore E. Mauzey, 88, of 2645 Renaissance Drive, formerly of Dallas, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Clement's Cemetery, Bankston, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a Resurrection Catholic Church Parish Christian wake service at 7 p.m.

She was born on Jan. 27, 1915, in Bankston, daughter of Walter A. and Eva A. (Daly) Lattner. She married Merritt T. Mauzey in 1955, in Dallas; he passed away in 1989.

She grew up in Bankston and graduated from St. Clement's High School, Bankston, in 1933. She then attended Mercy School of Nursing, graduating in 1936. Her nursing degree took her from Waukon, Iowa, to San Diego, and then to Dallas as a private nurse.

She was a former member of the Elks Club, Dallas, and a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Dubuque.

Lenore was a loving and giving person who always put her family and friends first and foremost.

She especially enjoyed her farm life in Bankston and Northern Texas. She ardently followed the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Loras Lattner, of Dubuque; a brother-in-law, Michael Agrella, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mrs. Velma Healy, Mrs. Jack (Grace) Kennaman, Mary Irene Lattner and Mrs. Michael (Helen) Agrella; and three brothers, Mr. Alfred Lattner, Mr. Loras Lattner and Mr. Eugene Lattner.

A Lenore E. Mauzey Memorial Fund has been established by the family.
