Mrs. Eldon H. (Louise M.) Tigges, 78, who resided with her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Mickey Tigges, at 4002 St. Catherine Road, Bellevue, Iowa, formerly of 7537 Ridgeview Road, Dubuque, died at 5:41 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2003, at home, surrounded by her family.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Catherine (Iowa) Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where there will be a parish wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on March 28, 1925, in Dubuque, daughter of Louis and Edith (Allen) Wachter. She married Eldon H. Tigges on Sept. 1, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

Louise was a graduate of the former Academy of the Visitation.

She worked a short time at the Lorenz Laundry. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

She was a member of St. Catherine's Parish. Louise and Eldon enjoyed spending time at their cottage and going dancing. She also enjoyed her flower garden and always had fresh flowers in the house. Louise always enjoyed a good game of poker or euchre.

Surviving are her husband, Eldon H. Tigges, of St. Catherine; three sons, Donald E. (Marie) Tigges, of Grove, Okla., Ronald J. (Mickey) Tigges, of St. Catherine, and Thomas M. (Tana) Tigges, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren, Susan Jordan, Kyle Tigges, Tonya Bainbridge, Shaun Tigges, Tamika Norling and Kanyada and Naomi Tigges; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Gatton, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Zinn Gassman.
