MRS. CLARENCE F. (Helen M. Mueller) BARTON

Helen M. Barton, 91, of 2075 Admiral St., formerly of 2220 Washington St., died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1911, in Bankston, Iowa, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Bastian) Mueller.

She married Clarence F. Barton on Sept. 21, 1935, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he passed away on Sept. 24, 1961. Helen was a homemaker who cherished her family.

She had lived in Dubuque all her life. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish and also a member of its Rosary Society.

Surviving are her children, John "Jack" (Elaine) Barton and Mary Ann Barton, both of Dubuque; her grandchildren, Beth (Kevin) Weiland, Emily (Marty) Lambe and Nick and Steve Barton; and her great-grandchildren, Aaron Lehman, Matt Weiland, Kayley Weiland and Andrew Lambe.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen K. Barton Frohs; and two sisters, Rosalyn Weir and Mary E. Mueller.

A Helen M. Barton Memorial Fund has been established.

The Barton family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially Amy, Dorothy, Lisa, Jane, Rachel and Rosie for the wonderful care and support given to Helen and her family.
