Dubuque Telegraph Herald Monday August 31, 1914
William B. Keogh succumbed to a two years' illness at his home, 68 Burch street, Monday morning at 9:25 o'clock. Early last spring Mr. Keogh's life was despaired of, but he rallied from the attack and was able to resume his duties at the Dubuque Building and Loan Association's office. His condition showed a marked improvement for a time, but three weeks ago he had a relapse and from that time on little hope was entertained for his recovery.
The deceased was born in Dubuque on August 22, 1868, and this city has always been his home, except for a few years spent at Clinton, Ia., He was united in marriage to Miss Annie Kamman in this city and she with one daughter, Helen, survive him.
Mr. Keogh was active in the work of the First Congregational church, serving as a trustee for the past several years and taking a prominent part in the several departments of church work. He was active also in Masonic circles, being a member of Metropolitan Lodge No. 49, A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Keogh was identified with the Building and Loan Association for many years in the capacity of bookkeeper. In his business relations he made many friends, and his popularity was attested to by the many anxious inquiries regarding his condition during his recent sickness. He was genial and whole-souled and his death brings grief to the hearts of those who had known and admired him. He was a devoted husband and father, his interests chiefly centering in the family circle.
The funeral will take place from the family residence on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and the interment will be made in Linwood cemetery.
