Mrs. Fred Doerrer, for forty-eight years a resident of this city, was summoned by death this morning at 3:45 o'clock at the family home, 1871 Washington street, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Doerrer, who had been in ill health for the past four months, did not become seriously ill until last Monday.
She was born in Germany, August 21, 1867[sic] and come to Dubuque, which has since been her home when a child of six years. She was a member of the Rosary society of St. Mary's and she died comforted by the rites of her church.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Albert, of St. Paul, and Edward, of Dubuque, and a daughter, Mrs. Henry Vormann, of this city. Three daughters, Mrs. C.W. Danglemeyer, Mrs. E.J. Seipp and Mrs. Fred Tschirgi, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be held Saturday morning from the home to St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Burial will be private. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
