Wife of Michael Martin; children in the 1880 US census included: Katie age 23, Maggie age 21, Mary age 16, John age 15, Lizzie age 12, Michael age 9, Isabel age 7, Joseph age 5 and Francis age 1.
The 1900 census shows her widowed, mother of 12 children and 8 are still living. Those with her are: Mollie age 34, Libby age 28, Belle age 25, Joseph age 24, Frank age 21

Mrs. Honora Martin, widow of the late Michael Martin, died at the family residence, 1547 Elm street on Sunday at 109:30 a.m. aged 74 years. Mrs. Martin had been a resident of the city for the past sixty years and was one of the best known and highly regarded pioneers of Dubuque. Born in County Cork, Ireland, she came to America and Dubuque in her young girlhood and resided here continuously until death claimed her. A woman of exemplary life she was held in the highest regard and esteemed for her good life and splendid example.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her children, Mrs. Margaret Henry, Mrs. Kate Goodale, of St. Paul, Mollie, Libbie, Belle and Frank of this city and by one sister Mrs. Bridget Lahey.
Mrs. Martin had been ill for six months but bore her sufferings patiently. Paralysis was the direct cause of her death. She died fortified with the rites of the church.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the late residence, 1547 Elm street, to St. Patrick's church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
