Michael Martin, whose death at 1 o'clock yesterday morning was announced in yesterday's Herald, was born in Mullinger, county West Meath, Ireland, in 1824. He came to America in 1844, remained in St. Louis for three years and came to Dubuque in 1847. In 1853, in Dubuque, he married Hanora Haggarty. Nine children were born to him, of whom the two eldest are Kate, Mrs. G.A. Goodale, and Maggie, Mrs. J.W. Henry, both of St. Paul. The others are at home.
