Drowned while Bathing.
Monticello, July 3.—While three boys of Cascade were bathing in the north fork of the Maquoketa river near that place Saturday afternoon, one of their number met death from drowning. The unfortunate lad’s name was Gauser and he was about eighteen years of age. His two companions hastened to town after the accident and were so badly frightened that they said nothing of the occurence. Young Gauser was missed from home and a searching party was organized. The party found the missing youth’s clothing upon the river hank, and recov{er}ed his body from the treacherous waters.
