Former Dubuquer is 101 Years Old

Mrs. Carole Augusten, a former resident of Dubuque and Cottage Hill, in Dubuque County, celebrated her one hundred and first birthday anniversary Sunday at the home of her daughter, Pauline, 1839 Eddy Street, Chicago. A photograph of Mrs. Augusten, taken at her daughter’s home Sunday, appeared in the Chicago Tribune Monday.

Mrs. Augusten, who is well-known in Dubuque and in the country, was born in Mecklenburg, Germany. She came to Dubuque with her husband about fifty-five years ago. They lived in the city for some time and later moved to Cottage Hill, where Mr. Augusten operated a general store and was postmaster. After twenty-five years ago. Mrs. Augusten moved to Chicago, where she has since made her home.
