A Citizen of Washington Township Dies
At the Asylum in Independence
~
Yesterday afternoon a message was received announcing the death of William Gavin, Jr. at the asylum in Independence.For the past few years Mr. Gavin had suffered from acute malady which affected his mind and he was sent to the asylum in the hope that the treatment would restore him.
He was the eldest son of William Gavin Sr., and was born in Washington Township about 50 years ago. He was a successful farmer and a good citizen. He leaves to mourn his death, besides his wife and two children, his aged parents, four brothers’ and four sisters.
The remains were brought to Cascade last night and thence to the family homestead. The funeral will be held tomorrow at St. Martin’s Church.
