Theodore M. Reiter, Sr.

Theodore M. Reiter, Sr., 70 of 1590 University Ave. died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday in Mercy Medical Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary’s Church with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday at Behr’s where the Wake Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Reiter was born in New Vienna, Iowa, He was the first employee hired by John Deer Co. in Dubuque, where he had been employed for more than 22 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the John Deer Supervisors Club and the Dubuque Elks Club 297.

Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys Lorenz; three sons, Eugene R., Ted Jr. and Richard R, all of Dubuque; a daughter, Mrs. Burt (Gloria) Graham of Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Norton and Mrs. Susie Purcell, both of Dubuque; seven brothers, Leo, Peter, John, Andrew, George, and Eldon, all of Dubuque, Albert of Chicago, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
