Death of Mrs. Edward Brown

Last Sunday morning the death of Mrs. Brown, wife of Edward Brown, occurred in this city, after an illness of several weeks. She was a daughter of the late John Seery, of Washington Township, and a sister of Mrs. Robert Quirk, John Seery, Miss Annie Seery, of Cascade, and Frank Seery, of Washington Township. She was a popular and amiable young lady whose death is felt with deep regret. She was born in Washington Township, Jones County 36 years ago and was married to Edward Brown in January, 1865. Two children blessed their union, Frank and Wilford. Mr. and Mrs. Brown had lived in Bernard until this spring, when they moved to Cascade.

Though it was known she was in failing health yet the death of Mrs. Brown was a surprise and shock to the community, and in his sore bereavement the husband and his motherless children have the sincere sympathy of the community.

The funeral, which was held Monday from St. Martin’s, was largely attended, and among others was many old friends and neighbors from Bernard. The Rev. L. Roche conducted the services.
