The death of William Trotter occurred Wednesday, April 23, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jane Sloan, in Chicago. The funeral services were held at the Second Presbyterian Church in Brookline, a suburb, the pastor, Rev. Gray, officiating. The remains were brought to Cascade on Saturday last and interment in the Protestant cemetery.
William Trotter was born in Armalt, Ireland, Jan. 12, 1810. At the age of 38 he immigrated to the United States, and about 1852 settled in Washington Township, where he engaged in farming, but some years since retired. About two years ago he went to Missouri, and last winter returned to this city and thence to Chicago. His wife died in August, 1883 and he is survived by his only child, Mrs. Jane Sloan, in whose home his closing hours were made comfortable.
