Charles Clement Placke 1864-1909

Charles Clement Placke was born in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin on March 13, 1864. He married Louise Hanfelt on Feb. 9, 1881. They farmed until moving to Farley in 1901, where Charles went into the livestock business. He later opened a general store in the Kehoe Building. Jaundice and seriously ill with liver trouble, Charles died at Mercy Hospital, Dubuque, on Aug. 15, 1909. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Louise and Charles had two daughters: Ida and Delia. Charles Placke served as a town officer for Farley.
