William & Eliza (Lockwood) Pitman

Mrs. William (Eliza) Pitman was born April 5, 1846, the daughter of Robert Lockwood. She died Sept. 8, 1893. Eliza and William are shown on St. George’s Church records as marrying Aug. 19, 1861. The Pitman’s farmed south of Farley. William was born July 24, 1831 and died Nov. 28, 1891. Both are buried at Fairview. The Pitman’s had seven children: Amelia Elizabeth; Robert Lee; Flora Louisa; Emily Frances; William Bair; Jesse Lena and Samuel John.

Robert and his wife, Mary, lived in Farley for many years. They too are buried at Fairview. Robert 1865- 1949 and Mary 1870-1949. Emily Pitman married James DuBois, who formerly lived south of Farley and later lived in Bristow, Butler Co., Iowa. They were wed February 1895. The ceremony performed by the bridegroom’s brother, Rev. C. W. DuBois.
