Mrs. H. Ganfield
A very prominent and highly respected resident of this community, Mrs. Henry Ganfield, passed to her merited eternal reward Friday evening at eight o'clock when she expired following a long and harrowing illness. Mrs. Ganfield had been ill for about six years and very seriously during the past two years and although her departure is mourned deeply by her family and friends, death brought to her a piece from pain and suffering which this good woman had bravely and with Spartan like courage, borne consistently.

Mrs. Ganfield, the wife of one of Cascade's prominent farmers, came to this country from her native England when she was 17 years of age and from that time she impressed all who ever met her with her kindly nature, Christian life and exemplary character. She was a fine woman, excellent and devoted mother and worked hard side-by-side with her husband in building a reputation of honesty, integrity and neighborliness enjoyed by few in this life. If industry, humility and suffering are keys to eternal bliss and happiness this good woman has merited a noble reward in the hereafter.

Louisa Denley, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Denley, was born in Cheltenham, England, June 11, 1871 and came to this country in 1888. She was married to Henry Ganfield on January 1, 1896, and resided with her husband on their farm north of Cascade ever since.

She is survived by her husband and three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Nina Martin, Mrs. Ruby Martin, Mrs. Maude Hutton and Leslie and Denley Ganfield. One brother, David, preceded her in death and another brother, in England survives.

Funeral services were conducted from the home to the community church, beginning at 1030 o'clock, Monday morning. Rev. Peter Bock of Earlham, Iowa, conducted services at the home and Rev. Charles Rabenberg at the church here. Interment was in the Protestant cemetery at Farley.

Casket bearers were: O. J. Winters, Gerald Hamil, Clarence Martin, C. H. Macomber, Stewart Martin, James Gosden, Charles Hawkins and A. W. Aitchison.
Rev. Dr. William Ganfield, president of Carroll college, Waukesha, Wisconsin, wife, daughter and son-in-law, paid their respects to the deceased with a visit here on Sunday.
