Cascade Pioneer, 18. October, 1906

Henry Gehrig, proprietor of the Jefferson House in Dubuque, received a telegram Sunday conveying the sad intelligence of the death of his brother, Peter Gehrig, which occurred Sunday morning at 4 o’clock at Gils Edge, Montana. Mr. Gehrig left here three years ago in hopes of regaining his health, which was then impaired. He was engaged in the hotel business with his brother for several years previous to his going west, and was extremely popular with patrons of the house. Of a genial disposition he made many warm friends, who mourn his death in the prime of manhood. Surviving him are three brothers, and two sisters, Henry, John, Joseph, Mrs. L. Henkels' and Miss Mary Gehrig, all of Dubuque. The body will be brought to Dubuque for interment, but definite arrangements have not been made.
