DYERSVILLE, Iowa — Marvin A. Tauke, 84, of Dyersville, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Friday from 9-10 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Conway will officiate. American Legion Post 137 will accord military honors.

Marv was born August 25, 1933, in Dyersville, the son of Greg and Elizabeth (Osterhaus) Tauke. He graduated from Xavier HS and served four years in the Navy as a SeaBee. He married Leona Bockenstedt on Nov. 9, 1957, in Dyersville. Marv joined Greg J. Tauke and Sons, an implement dealership. Marv and Dave eventually split ownership into Tauke Implement and Tauke Motors. Marv was later involved with several other businesses and investments such as Dairy Queen and Tauke Real Estate and Appraisal. Marv was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1734. Marv was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching and playing golf. He was a lifetime member of the Dyersville Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Leona; children: Mark Tauke, of Dyersville, Mike Tauke, of Delhi, Jack Tauke, of Dyersville, Lynn (Mark) Mawe, of Grinnell, and Lisa (Barry) Klostermann, of Dyersville; grandchildren: Jesse (friend Mitchell Boge) Tauke, Dillon, Jake and Wade Mawe, Paige, Bennet (fiance Taylor Baumgartner), Brooke (friend Jake Westhoff), and Blair Klostermann; great grandchildren: Max Hanken and Bailey Boge; a sister: Marjorie Torrance, of Dyersville; in-laws: Alice Tauke, Lois Bockenstedt, Fred (Barb) Bockenstedt, Dennis (Judy) Boeckenstedt, Dean (Rosalie) Boeckenstedt, Blanche (Albert) Schulte, Ambrose Wegmann, Jean (Ken) Kramer and Phyllis (Jim) Tigges, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffry James Tauke in 1979; siblings: Donna (Robert) McGuire, James (Arlene) Tauke, Dave (Joan) Tauke; in-laws: Tom Torrance, Theresa Bockenstedt, Leo Bockenstedt, Pat Wegmann, Marian (Allan) Koelker and Kathy Boeckenstedt.

Memorials are preferred.
