DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Madonna T. "Donna" Krapfl, 85, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 10:40 p.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Donna may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Friends also may call after 9 a.m. on Monday at Reiff Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial for Donna will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, Iowa, with Rev. Dennis Quint presiding. Burial will be held in St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, Iowa.

Donna was born on October 3, 1931, in Dyersville, Iowa, daughter of Emil and Martha (Kramer) Esch. She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School in Dyersville, IA. She was united in marriage to Merle Krapfl on June 30, 1952, at Basilica St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, IA.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Dyersville, Iowa. Donna was a 4H Leader and a member of the Dyersville Merry Maids for many years. She loved to cook, fish, camp and tend to her flower gardens. She enjoyed attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Merle Krapfl, of Dyersville, IA; four children, Gary Krapfl, of Dyersville, IA, David (Kathy) Krapfl, of Geneseo, IL, Dan Krapfl, of Dyersville, IA, and Ann Fessler, of Durango, IA; 8 grandchildren; one sister, Julie White, of Maquoketa, IA; one brother-in-law, Phil Manternach, of Cascade, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Mike Fessler; four sisters, Kay Ament, Mary Williamson, Patricia Billmeyer and Ellen Manternach; one brother, Nick Esch.
