Edward H. Pratt, 78, of 1760 Elm street, died at Mercy hospital at 8:20 Saturday night following an extended illness.
Friends may call at the Strueber funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from where the funeral will be held to St. Patrick's church Tuesday morning, the time to be announced later.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Pratt was born Dec. 29, 1867 in Tama county, Iowa, the son of the late Frederick and Adelia Pratt.
He came to Dubuque 53 years ago. For 45 years he was yard conductor of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul railroad. He was a member of St. Patrick's church, the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and was past president of local BRT.
Survivors are two sons, Charles E., Dubuque, and William F., of Chicago; five daughters, Mrs. Harry (Grace) New and Mrs. Dominic (Mary) Goodman, both of Dubuque; Mrs. Bernard (Florence) McCoy, and Mrs. Leo (Betty) Stell, both of Milwaukee; Mrs. Curtis (Ann) Rundell, Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Anna B. Means, Minneapolis; 26 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1929, his parents and one daughter, Abbie.
