A dispatch received by the family last evening bore the sad intelligence that Daniel Bowen had died in Chicago, and that the remains would arrive here this morning in charge of Daniel Bowen, Jr.

Mr. Bowen was an old resident of Dubuque. He came here over thirty years ago and has resided her almost constantly ever since. He has spent the past two years in Chicago with his son Daniel. Mr. Bowen was a native of Ireland. He was widely known, and served as constable several years. His friends will be pained to learn of his demise.

The time of the funeral will be announced hereafter. At the time of his death he was 54 years of age. He leaves seven children, they are: Daniel Jr., of Chicago; John, attending the Catholic seminary at Montrael; Peter, in the employ of Hansen & Linehen; Henry and Frank; and two daughters, Sarah and Eliza.

DIED - In Chicago, Monday morning, Feb. 1, 1886, of rheumatism of the heart, Daniel Bowen, aged 54 years and 9 months. Funeral services from the family residence, No. 158 West Locust street, this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at St. Philomena's Asbury. Friend of the family are invited to attend.

Daniel Bowen, who died in Chicago Monday morning, will be buried this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock from the family residence on West Locust street.
