Funeral services for Dr. Frederick Fuerste, a native of Guttenberg and member of one of the community’s pioneer families, are to be held in Dubuque this Thursday afternoon. The services will be held at the Strueber funeral home at Dubuque, where Dr. Fuerste died at his home Tuesday [--]ing.

The services will be conducted by Dr. Dale D. Welch, president of Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, and Dr. Gilbert Cox, pastor of Grandview Avenue Methodist Church in Dubuque. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery at Dubuque.

Dr. Fuerste was born August 13, 1894 in Guttenberg, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fuerste. He went through the Guttenberg Public school and studied medicine at the University of Iowa [--] practicing in Duluth, Minnesota. He took his work as [--] at Rush medical college at the University of Chicago, later [--] in Dubuque where he practiced for 22 years.

Dr. Fuerste is survived by Mrs. Fuerste and three sons, Dr. Frederick Fuerste, Jr., and William of Dubuque, and Karl W. Fuerste of St. Paul, Minnesota. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. L. M. Davies, of Chicago and three granddaughters, Nanette, Emily and Gretchen Fuerste. Two brothers preceded him in death.
