James Andrew Pline
1964-2017James Andrew Pline, 52, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on October 26, 2017 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital.
Celebration of his life will be on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Lux Club, 3050 Asbury Road in Dubuque. All family and friends are welcome. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
Jim was born on November 17, 1964 at Xavier hospital in Dubuque the son of Ronald and Gloria (Kennedy) Pline. He graduated from Senior High School in 1983 and attended NICC for welding and machinist. He married Julie Lambert in 1984 at St. Mary’s Church.
He worked in the family business, Pline Battery Station. He was also employed for many years at Dubuque Stamp and Manufacturing Company.
Jim was an avid morel hunter, he loved to cook, loved ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and could often be found cruising town in his younger years. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye Basketball. But most of all Jim loved his family.
He is survived by his children, James A. (Holly) Pline Jr., Rebecca Pline, Jonathan Pline, and Desaray Bordner. His mother Gloria (Kennedy) Pline; his siblings, Kathleen Callaghan, Kevin (Martha) Pline, Allan (Connie) Pline, Lorna Olson, Janice (Dave) Bechen, and Scott (Beth) Pline. Sister-in-law, Luanus Pline. His grandchildren, Aiden, Alyssa and Ander Sharkey, Riot Hess, Carson and Scarlett Pline; along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents Alberta and Reuben; grandmother Evelyn Nitterauer, and Alvy Kennedy Sr.; his father Ronald Pline; his brother William; sister-in-law Debbie Pline; grandson Reid Pline and brother-in-law Craig Olson.
In lieu of flowers a James Pline memorial fund has been established.
