PIONEER RESIDENT OF NEW VIENNA DIES
MRS. CASPAR RIESBERG AGED 70 YEARS PASSED AWAY LAST SATURDAY

New Vienna, Iowa April 23: On April 19th at an early hour occurred the death of Mrs. Caspar Riesberg, aged 70 years. He death followed a stroke of paralysis.

She is survived by her aged husband and three sons, Caspar, Jr., William and Anton at home. Also several daughters, (Mary) Mrs. F. Roling of Remsen, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Brunsmann of New Vienna and Miss Kate at home. Several children preceded her in death.

Mrs. Riesberg was a devout Catholic and beloved by her neighbors and many friends. She is one of the pioneer settlers of this vicinity and with her parents settled here in early days when this section was part wilderness.
The news of her death occasioned deepest sorrow among her countless friends and sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved husband and the children.

Rev. Anthony Kremer of Dubuque was here Tuesday morning to conduct the funeral services of his relative, the late Mrs. Sophia Riesberg and also visited relatives during the day.

Sophia and Casper were married by Rev. Conrad Schulte in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, Iowa.
