Obituary from the Monday January 23, 1961 edition of the Cedar Rapids Gazette from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Edward Lipp, 1830 D ave. NE, Cedar Rapids resident since 1941, died Saturday. Born in Dubuque March 26, 1876, Mr. Lipp was co-owner of Lipp's grill with his wife, Laura, who died in 1959, and a son, George, with whom he resided since 1959. He was a member of the Elks club 49 years and was a member of Men's Catholic Order of Foresters.
Surviving are 2 other sons, Charles, of Cedar Rapids and Herbert, of Lakeside, Calif.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Bertha Strayer of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Mrs. Rose Schrader of Great Falls, Mont.; 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services: Tuesday at 9 in St. Patrick's church by the Rev. J. Robert McDonald. Burial: Mt. Calvary. Father McDonald will recite the Rosary Monday at 7:30 at the Brady mortuary, where friends may call.
