CASCADE, Iowa — Julianne H. Avenarius, 60, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at Unity Point Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Julie may call from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friends may also call after 9 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at the funeral home.

Services for Julie will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa, with Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

She was born July 24, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Albert J. and Helen M. (Weber) Gansemer.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Avenarius; 2 sons, Marvin (Angie) Manternach, and Justin Manternach (& fiance, Donna McFall); one step-daughter, Emma Avenarius (& friend, Noah); 2 grandchildren, Josephine and Lane; 2 step grandchildren, Daniel and Maggie; her siblings, Mary Anne (Kenneth) Manternach, Joseph (Susan) Gansemer, Edward Gansemer, Rita (Thomas) Clemen, Eugene (Kathryn) Gansemer, Madonna Gansemer and Michael Gansemer, her father and mother-in-law, James & Diane Avenarius; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Gansemer; and one niece, Hannah Gansemer.
