Michael Madigan was born in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland in 1834. He immigrated to this country in 1850 and settled with his family in Vernon Township.

Michael entered New Melleray in 1856, where he served as Prior (temp) and Procurator. Father Albric is buried in the privaate cemetery at New Melleray.

His parents were Patrick & Margaret Madigan.
